Golden Vessel has recently dropped his second album, colt, and it is as impressive as we expected it to be. Each of its eleven tracks delve into a unique blend of alt-indie-electro-pop, but it is ‘Stateside’ that really grabbed our attention. There is an uplifting vibe to be found exuding from Golden Vessel’s lead vocal, but through pitch-shifted bass guitar parts, there is an interesting feeling of uncanny unease threading through the track. Interestingly, this was “one of the first songs I made for the album and helped direct the sound... The 2nd verse was empty for over a year and finally Connor (Akurei) added the nicest little verse on top of it.” Have a listen to colt in full. -Dan Peeke
